GOALS
- Foster the Development of a Positive SLP Lacrosse Culture
- Support student-athletes with the goal of becoming outstanding students, competitors, and citizens
- Promote the significance of academics and good behavior in preparation of post-secondary life
- No cuts, all are welcome
- Grow the Awareness of Lacrosse in SLP
- Build strong relationship with the St. Louis Park High School
- Market and promote our program through social and traditional media
- Hosting the SLP Lacrosse Youth Teams at Saturday Practices
- Welcome ALL students into the program

Player Expectations & Eligibility
Player Accountability and Responsibility
We have high expectations for our student-athletes - player accountability and personal responsibility are critical components to our success. Players should:
- SELF –Take responsibility for your health (fitness, sleep, eating right)
- Players should be preparing their bodies to compete at the varsity level, see preparation segment
- EQUIPMENT – Responsible for your equipment (sticks, gloves, helmet, mouth guards, etc)
- All players need to return borrowed equipment from the team
- If a player needs assistance acquiring/paying for any equipment, please contact coach Buckley
- ATTENDANCE – Accept accountability for attendance and timeliness for games, practices
- Players Are Expected to Attend Each and Every Practice unless they have a valid reason
- Acceptable: Family Emergency/Event, Illness
- Unacceptable: Vacations, college visits, cabin weekends, academic punishments (suspension/detention)
- Special circumstances can be made between the coach-parent-player
- Players that miss practice without any prior notice from player or parent:
- 1st – Verbal Warning and Discussion with Coaches
- 2nd – Game time suspension (2 quarters)
- 3rd – Player will be asked to step down from the program
- ACADEMICS – Maintaining eligible GPA to play high school athletics
Player Preseason Preparation Guidelines
Conditioning and Strength

- Players should be engaged in another sporting activity or following a weekly exercise routine leading up to the lacrosse season. Being that we are only going to be a varsity team, we need to make sure that everyone can safely play the sport. - Fitness Goals:
- 2mi run in under 18 minutes
- 30 pushups
- 30 situps
Lacrosse Fundamentals

- Players new to the sport need to visit the Boys Lacrosse GoPark page and study the “Lacrosse How To” videos (https://www.gopark.org/page/3279)
- Players should work to be able to do the following by beginning of the season
Fundamentals Goals:

- 50 pass/catch in a row (strong hand)
- 25 pass/catch in a row (weak hand)
- Cradling 1 & 2 handed (Left and Right Hand)
