Whitney was born and raised in the small town of Washburn, WI. And because both of her parents (Mike & Wendy Meierotto) have been coaching for over 21 years, Whitney grew up in the gym and around the sport of Volleyball.

After playing two seasons at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Whitney opted to transfer to Concordia University - St. Paul for her final two seasons of collegiate volleyball. While at Concordia University - St. Paul, Whitney helped lead the Golden Bears to 2 National Championships while setting the school record for most aces in a single season and earning All-America honors. After college, Whitney continued on at Concordia University - St. Paul as a Graduate Assistant Coach for one season.

Following her time as a coach at CU, Whitney transitioned to coaching High School Volleyball serving as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Wayzata for two seasons.

In 2014, Whitney left Wayzata to take on the Head Coaching job at The Blake School. While at Blake, Whitney helped lead the Bears to their best regular season record in school history.

After coaching one season at Blake, and eager to build a program at a public school, Whitney accepted the opportunity to serve as the Head Coach at St. Louis Park. In her first season as Head Coach, she again helped lead her team to their best regular season record in school history. In addition to coaching, Whitney also serves as the SLP Club Volleyball Director. Coach Meierotto-Simon is now headed into her fifth season as the Orioles Head Coach.
