A student who does not meet these minimum requirements may be allowed to continue to participate by fully participating in the “Athletic Academic Support” program.

The “Athletic Academic Support” program consists of:

1 – A pre-meeting between the student, their parent/ guardians, coach, Athletic Director, and counselor.

2 – Development and agreement on a individualized academic support plan. This may include scheduled check-ins, daily progress forms, structured before/after school support.

3 – If a student is deemed to not be making sufficient progress towards graduation, they will not be eligible to participate.

Special Education students may be exempt from this policy. The case manager will make a recommendation to the Athletic Director regarding the student’s involvement in athletics/activities.

Students who feel there are extenuating circumstances that affect their eligibility may request a hearing with a appeals board consisting of the Principal (or designee), Athletic Director and the involved student -athletes' guidance counselor.
